Overview
The CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is a nationally recognised qualification from the CHC Community Services Training Package. It is an entry level qualification for anyone wishing to commence a career in the early childhood sector, or for someone who has been working in the industry for a number of years and wishes to formally recognise their knowledge and skills.

The  CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care teaches the skills and knowledge required to provide care for individuals and groups of children. Learners will learn how to plan activities to facilitate children's play to support children's well being, learning and development. The qualifications will also teach learners how to support the implementation of an approved learning framework, while working within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard.

Delivery Mode
The qualification is delivered through workplace based training, meaning that learners can study the CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care while working in the early childhood sector. Learners are assigned a Trainer/Assessor who will conduct regular visits to the service. During these visits, the Trainer/Assessor will support the learner through their learning and will assess them to determine their level of competency in each unit.

Units of Competency
The qualification consists of 18 units in total, with 15 compulsory units and 3 elective units. See the table below for a breakdown of the units of competency.



Duration
The duration depends on the learner's previous learning, employment status and experience, but the qualification typically takes between 12 and 24 months to complete.

Cost
There are different options available for learners enrolled in CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care: a fee for service delivery structure, Government-funded traineeships or Certificate 3 Guarantee.
