Overview

The CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is a nationally recognised qualification from the CHC Community Services Training Package. The qualification teaches the skills and knowledge required to be responsible for supervising others in an early childhood education and care environment. The course equips students with the knowledge to manage a children's service to address regulations and quality assurance. It teaches students to plan, implement and manage programs in accordance with legislative requirements and the National Quality Framework, the Education and Care Services National Law and the National Regulations.

 

 

The CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care teaches students to document, plan and evaluate children’s play and learning while ensuring children’s health and safety. Students will learn to support the holistic development of children from birth to school age.

 
Delivery Mode
It is delivered through workplace based training, meaning that students can study CHC50113Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care while working in the early childhood sector. Students are assigned a Trainer/Assessor who will conduct regular visits to the service. During these visits, the Trainer/Assessor will support the student through their learning and will assess them to determine their level of competency in each unit.

Duration
The duration depends on the student's previous learning, employment status and experience, but the qualification typically takes between 18 and 26 months to complete.
 
Cost
CHC50113Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is offered as a fee for service, apprenticeship or via the Higher Level Skills program. The fees associated with these delivery styles depend on the student's previous qualifications, statements of attainment or recognition of prior learning and eligibility for government funding.
