The qualification teaches the skills and knowledge required to be responsible for supervising others in an early childhood education and care environment. The course equips learners with the knowledge to manage a children's service to address regulations and quality assurance. It teaches learners to plan, implement and manage programs in accordance with legislative requirements and the National Quality Framework, the Education and Care Services National Law and the National Regulations.
The CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care teaches learners to document, plan and evaluate children’s play and learning while ensuring children’s health and safety. Learners will learn to support the holistic development of children from birth to school age.
It is delivered through workplace based training, meaning that learners can study CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care while working in the early childhood sector. Learners are assigned a Trainer/Assessor who will conduct regular visits to the service. During these visits, the Trainer/Assessor will support the learner through their learning and will assess them to determine their level of competency in each unit.
